Prof. Lucien Aarden PhD
| Head Sanquin Research Department of Autoimmune Diseases Lucien Aarden graduated in 1970 in Biochemistry at the University of Amsterdam. In that year he moved to the CLB (now Sanquin) Department of Autoimmune Diseases to prepare his Ph.D. thesis on antibodies to dsDNA (1977, University of Amsterdam). He then had a two year sabbatical at the Basel institute for immunology where he started his work on cytokines. In 1979 upon his return to the CLB he became head of the Department of Autoimmune Diseases working on cytokines (especially IL-6) and on serology. In 1992 he got a chair in molecular Immunology at the University of Amsterdam. |
