
Steven Stapel graduated as a biologist at the University of Amsterdam in 1979, and was appointed as a research fellow at the department of biochemistry of the University of Nijmegen where his PhD thesis on avian eye lens proteins was finished in 1986.
He started working at the CLB (now Sanquin) as head of the department of Allergy Diagnostics in 1984.
At this department, his work has led to numerous innovations in the field of allergy diagnostic services. Specific allergen purification (on request) has led to the current availability of over 250 allergens at this department. |
