How to make an appointment?
The blood collection and administration take place at the CLB. You can make an appointment by telephone (020) 512 3178.

What are the costs and who pays for it?
A paternity casework costs € 1150. Even so when the mother is not available. For every extra person who takes part in the investigation, you should pay an additional € 450. Paternity caseworks will not be paid by most insurance companies.
You have to pay the investigation by yourself. Cash, or by means of a banktransfer to number 43.78.30.470. Please with the notification of VO\.......... (family names of the persons involved).

How are things going?
During a paternity casework we work together with an intermediary selected by yourself. This can be your local physician, social worker or lawyer. This intermediary shall receive the results of the investigation en will discuss these with you. The intermediary does not have to be necessarily the same person for all individuals involved in the case.
At the moment when the blood collection is carried out you should identify yourself with a valid identity card. We make a copy of this and in addition we also take a photograph of you. Furthermore we fill in a paper together with additional personal data.

Should all show up at the same time?
No, that is not necessary. The appointments can be made separately. As soon as the blood of all participants is collected, the case is ready to start.

How long does it take?
As soon as the blood has been collected, it takes two to three weeks before the results are there. The report is then sent to the intermediary and you will receive a message that the results are ready. The report contains the results, the conclusion and an explanation. Your intermediary will discuss the results with you and can provide after care.
